Christians

Are you looking for an editor who understands Christian doctrine, values, jargon, and culture?

Do you need someone who can follow The Christian Writer’s Manual of Style?

Do you have an opinion on whether to capitalize pronouns referring to God? Spoiler alert: the Manual usually advises against it but allows for author preference (as do I, of course).

Are you hoping to share your faith through your writing? If so, please contact me about my editing services.

I was raised in various churches growing up due to moving several times (and some church hopping by my family). I’ve been either a member or a multiple-time visitor of various Lutheran, nondenominational, Baptist, and Assemblies of God churches in the US, Japan, and Mexico. I also have Catholic relatives, and friends of several other denominations. Currently, I’m a member of an LCMS church; I serve on the Evangelism committee and teach English as a Second Language there every week.

If you’re not familiar with Confessional Lutheran churches, there are some great videos on YouTube that explain the distinct Lutheran tradition from an outsider’s point of view.

So, thanks to my eclectic church experiences, I have a wide perspective on how church (and Christians) can look. I study the Bible, theology, and Christian apologetics regularly. I have my opinions on secondary issues, but I happily embrace as brothers and sisters those who affirm the Trinity, the inerrancy of the Bible as the inspired Word of God, and the doctrines taught in the major creeds, such as the Nicene Creed, the Apostles’ Creed, and the Athanasian Creed.

I am quite interested in apologetics, and here are some of my favorite apologists (in no particular order):

Tim Stratton

Alisa Childers

Corey Miller

Melissa Dougherty

Scott Ventureyra

Natasha Crain

William Lane Craig

Douglas Groothuis

Hillary Ferrer

Nick Peters

Robert Gagnon

For any non-Christians who are reading out of curiosity, I’m happy to work with you too. 😉 I’ve had fascinating discussions with (and learned so much from) Jewish, Muslim, Shinto, Buddhist, and Hindu friends, and with those who don’t claim any religion. My goal is to amplify your voice without imposing my own.
